Lobmeyer Seed Farms is owned and operated by Matthew Lobmeyer, son of Marion Lobmeyer, founder. We have been growing Certified Seed Wheat since 1978 and conditioning our own seed since 1983. In 2001 Marion received the Premier Seed Grower award from the Kansas Crop Improvement Association.

Marion Lobmeyer graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Agronomy in 1957. After working for the Soil Conservation Service, he returned home in 1964 to take over the family farm from his father, Louis Lobmeyer. Marion has been married to Joan (Albers) since 1956 and they have 9 children, 24 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Matthew Lobmeyer, the youngest of the Lobmeyer children, graduated from Kansas State University in 2000 and immediately returned home to the farm. He has been married to Betsy (Alsop) since 1999 and they have five children. Matthew has previously served as President of the Kansas Seed Industry Association and currently serves as a board member with the Kansas Crop Improvement Association. He also serves on the research committee for the Kansas Wheat Alliance. You can learn more than you would ever need or want to know about Matthew by following his weblog.
